Peter Funch and V1 Gallery presents the second installment of Funch's Babel Tales series for the first VOLTA NY. Babel Tales is a series of works that focus on human relations (or the lack thereof) in big cities. His project is a junction between documentary photography and manipulated photography. Through repetition and juxtaposition Funch zooms in on human similarities and collective behavior and ends up creating a strange, poetic and detailed picture of our presence as individuals in the public sphere. Volta NY “The Eye of the Beholder” is curated by Amanda Coulson and Christian Viveros-Faune VOLTA NY is located at 7W 34th Street, opposite the Empire State Building. VOLTA NY runs from March 27th to March 30th, 2008.
